Job summary

Alverno Laboratories in Hammond, IN is seeking a dedicated Central Laboratory - Microbiology technician for shift 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM with weekend/holiday rotation. This full-time role focuses on specimen processing and laboratory testing in a fast-paced environment.

You will analyze and report waived and moderately complex test results in line with departmental procedures and professional standards, contributing to accurate data and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 12–18 months of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is required.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform analysis, evaluation and reporting of waived and moderately complex tests.

WHAT WILL YOU DO.

This individual is responsible for specimen processing and the analysis, evaluation and reporting of waived and moderately complex laboratory test results, in accordance with established departmental procedures and professional standards, to provide appropriate specimens and accurate data in a timely manner.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months of related experience is preferred.

Background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is required.
