Job summary

Franciscan Health Crawfordsville is seeking an MLT/MT to join our hospital laboratory team. You will process specimens, perform waived to high complexity tests as authorized, and report results according to procedures.

You will participate in quality control/assurance activities and, when needed, collect specimens. A strong foundation in clinical lab science and relevant degree are required, with preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests from waived to high complexity as authorized by the Director.
• Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and quality assurance standards.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.
