Job summary

Ascension Saint Alexius - Hoffman Estates is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/MT to work in our Hoffman Estates, IL location. The role involves processing specimens, performing waived to high-complexity tests, and reporting results per procedures.

The position requires MLT/MT credentials and appropriate degrees, with at least 1 year of clinical lab experience preferred. The candidate will participate in quality control and adhere to QA standards, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology.
• Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens, perform tests (waived to high complexity) as authorized by the Director.
• Report results according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and comply with QA standards.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.
