Job summary

Alverno Laboratories - Central Laboratory (Molecular) in Hammond, IN is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist for 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM shift with weekend/holiday rotation. Responsible for specimen processing, performing tests across waived to high complexity as authorized, and reporting results per procedures.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting of test results.
• Participate fully in quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

MLT

Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.

MT

Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.

Or

Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.

At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
