Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Obesity and Related Conditions to support Winston-Salem, NC and surrounding areas. The role focuses on scientific exchange with Opinion Leaders and healthcare professionals to advance obesity pipeline programs.

The ideal candidate holds a Doctorate or equivalent in medical sciences, with strong experience in Medical Affairs, cardiometabolic knowledge, and a proven ability to work across IDNs and institutions.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required.
• Or Master’s degree with 3 years Medical Affairs experience.
• Or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years Medical Affairs experience.
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred.
• 1+ years Medical Affairs experience.
• 4+ years in a medically related field, including clinical practice/research.
• Experience in Scientific Affairs/Medical Affairs at biotech/pharma.
• Cardiometabolic/Obesity expertise.
• Experience with designated territory.

Responsibilities

• Spend majority of time on peer-to-peer engagements with Obesity and related conditions Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and PHDMs.
• Engage with clinical investigators to support the obesity pipeline.
• Communicate scientific data of clinical value to PHDMs and institutions.
• Coordinate external and internal stakeholders to amplify Amgen’s reach and access for patients.
• Provide and present data to inform Amgen strategies while complying with MSL standards.
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and may serve as study lead.
• Lead congress activities and speaker training as requested.
• Collaborate with other Amgen field teams for a coordinated One Amgen experience.
• Complete administrative responsibilities (e.g., Veeva CRM) timely and accurately.
• Maintain and improve clinical/scientific acumen with current healthcare trends.
