Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Scientist 3 in South San Francisco to advance MS translational research by integrating human clinical data with molecular profiling to drive biomarker discovery and disease biology insights. You will work at the intersection of clinical development and translational science, handling clinical biospecimens and high‑dimensional data to inform trial design and molecule progression.

You will collaborate across Clinical Development, Bioanalytical Assay Development,

Qualifications

PhD with postdoc or industry translational research experience in MS biology or neuroimmunology.
Hands-on work with human clinical biospecimens (CSF, PBMCs, whole blood).
Proficiency in multi-omics and high-dimensional data analysis (scRNA-seq, CITE-seq, spatial transcriptomics, proteomics).
Knowledge of biomarker development and linking molecular findings to clinical questions.

Responsibilities

Contribute to discovery and validation of MS biomarkers and targets via molecular phenotyping and multi-omics.
Design and execute translational experiments using clinical biospecimens to study disease heterogeneity, target engagement, and progression.
Analyze high-dimensional datasets to generate translational insights for clinical development.
