Job summary

Genentech's Translational Medicine OMNI (TM OMNI) department seeks a Scientist 3 on-site at South San Francisco to merge data science with wet-lab work. You will support CVM programs across drug development stages, analyzing -Omics data while building assays to drive translational insights.

Ideal candidates combine wet-lab expertise with bioinformatics in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting, contributing to biomarker discovery and target validation for next-generation therapies.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biological Sciences with 0–6 years post-doc or industry wet-lab experience.
• Deep experience in sample collection/processing and cellular/lab techniques.
• Programming ability in R or Python for differential expression analysis.
• Independent thinker able to design studies, analyze data, and present results.

Responsibilities

• Establish disease-relevant in vitro human cell models and run experiments.
• Develop, qualify, and validate custom assays (ELISA, Simoa, NULISA).
• Analyze -Omics datasets (proteomics, metabolomics, RNAseq) to find biomarkers.
• Communicate findings through reports, publications, and presentations.
• Collaborate with gRED departments and external partners.
