Qualifications

Responsibilities

Mechatronics & Robotics Technician
Job Description

This permanent, full-time Mechatronics & Robotics Technician role is based in Shreveport, LA and sits at the core of a high-volume, fast-paced operations environment. You will work with advanced robotics, high-performance manufacturing systems, and material handling equipment to keep automated packaging and distribution processes running safely, reliably, and efficiently. Through hands-on work and on-the-job learning, you will combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and automation engineering skills to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex systems that support large-scale product movement and order fulfillment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyance and material handling equipment using established job plans, procedures, and manuals.

  • Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells to ensure consistent and reliable performance.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components, including automated conveyor systems.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, and related control components.

  • Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment in alignment with operational and safety standards.

  • Use blueprints and electrical schematics to diagnose issues and guide repairs on mechanical and controls equipment.

  • Apply and demonstrate safety standards consistently while performing all maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

  • Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work habits.

  • Use computers and Microsoft Office applications to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate updates.

Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications.

  • At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.

  • At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical and controls equipment.

  • At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • At least 2 years of experience consistently demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.

  • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE).

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including hands-on experience with conveyor systems and conveyor maintenance.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using a structured, analytical approach.

  • Ability to move up to 49 pounds and to stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, high-volume operations facility in Shreveport, LA that moves tens of thousands of products across a global network each day. You will work around robotics, automated conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and high-performance manufacturing systems, using tools, computers, and technical documentation to perform maintenance and repairs. The environment requires frequent standing and walking for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head. You must be able to move items up to 49 pounds, and safely climb ladders and gangways, with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays to support continuous operations. For safety, the facility provides lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes as part of the standard attire.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $61568.00 - $61568.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
