Job summary

Aerotek in Perrysburg, OH is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) to install, service, and repair high‑speed material handling and automated conveyor systems. You’ll focus on predictive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and maintaining safe, efficient operations in a large distribution environment.

The role requires 2+ years in maintenance of automated systems, experience with conveyors and MHE, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience performing quality predictive and preventative maintenance on industrial or automated systems.
  • 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyors.
  • 2+ years of reading and interpreting blueprints/electrical schematics.

Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) - RME
Job Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) installs, maintains, and repairs complex material handling and automated conveyor systems in a large, high-speed distribution environment. This role focuses on predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support continuous operations.

Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as automated conveyor systems.
  • Perform quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on material handling equipment and related automation.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures in accordance with established standards.
  • Perform battery changes and conduct preventive maintenance on industrial batteries.
  • Enter equipment downtime data into daily logs and accurately complete preventative maintenance (PM) sheets.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems associated with material handling equipment.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment problems using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.
  • Apply knowledge of basic electrical components, motors, and diesel systems to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Track, manage, and store department inventory, including spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to guide installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Follow and demonstrate safety standards at all times in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and facility safety procedures.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications to document work orders, maintenance records, and performance data.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and close work orders and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and controls systems.
  • Work with PLC-based control systems to support equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain robotic systems and components within the automated facility.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain productivity levels in a performance-tracked environment while meeting established expectations.
  • Adhere to all shift requirements, including working any assigned 10-hour shift as needed to support facility operations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or automated systems.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Minimum 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles.
  • At least 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or distribution environment.
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems.
  • At least 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience working with automated conveyor systems.
  • Ability to complete preventative maintenance on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors, including reading and using schematics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort working in industrial, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similar environments performing diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and creating work orders, particularly on conveyor systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and control systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • At least 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an industrial or distribution setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large distribution facility featuring high-speed automation and extensive robotic components. Performance is tracked through data and metrics, with systems in place to measure whether expectations are being met without micromanaging day-to-day activities. Technicians work around complex material handling equipment, conveyors, and PLC-based control systems, and should be comfortable walking approximately 10,000 steps per day throughout the facility. All candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift, as positions are available across multiple shifts to support continuous operations in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perrysburg, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
