Job summary

Aerotek in Kent, WA is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team. You will repair and maintain material handling equipment and pneumatic systems across the facility and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment, promoting safety, completing preventative maintenance with proper documentation, and working flexible shifts in a high-automation environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, shifts, and areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.

  • Track and store department inventory.
  • Move up to 49 lbs and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.

Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician
Job Description

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will utilize your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the facility. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment while mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
  • 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 1 year of metal and wood fabrication.
  • 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • 1 year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed, automated equipment, primarily featuring robotic components. Candidates should be comfortable walking 10,000 steps per day and working in varied conditions, including small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, and vibration. Shift flexibility is required, as positions are available for all shifts, and candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.31 - $30.31/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
