Job summary

AdventHealth in Calhoun, Georgia seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams in a fast-paced imaging department. This PRN position requires ensuring patient safety and comfort, accurate imaging, and adherence to all protocols.

Responsibilities include IV contrast administration, patient identification, informed consent, and age-appropriate imaging protocols, with flexibility for day shifts and potential weekend work. ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• MRI knowledge required with valid credentialing.
• ARRT MR (or ARMRIT) required or preferred.
• Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Maintain required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.
• Ability to perform MRI procedures with minimal supervision.

• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using immobilization and coil placement for high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast per safety guidelines; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for patient ID, informed consent, and time-out before exams.
• Performs high-quality MRI exams per physician orders and departmental protocols for safety and image quality.
• Operates imaging equipment safely (scanners, injectors, monitors); adapt protocols for all ages; other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM

• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of MRI procedures [Required]
• Knowledge of MRI scanners [Required]
• Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts, occasionally including weekends or holidays [Required]
• Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]
• Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
