Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist Trainee to support patient safety and perform high-quality MR studies on site and remotely. You will train and orient new technologists and support staff, communicate with radiologists and patients, and help maintain operational excellence across mobile units.

This role requires ARRT or equivalent certification eligibility, CPR, a high school diploma, and willingness to travel between locations. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications.
• Produce high quality diagnostic MR images; operate multiple MR systems.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, staff, patients, and customers.
• Train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site or remote.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
