Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Patchogue seeks an experienced MRI Technologist - Per Diem to operate MRI equipment and produce diagnostic images under radiologist supervision.

The position requires NYS Radiologic Technologist license (or temp permit) and ARRT MRI certification within 180 days of hire, plus strong communication and patient-safety skills. Per diem shift coverage is available.

Qualifications

• New York State Radiologic Technologist license or temporary permit.
• ARRT MRI certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer.
• Strong communication, problem solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images as ordered by radiologists.
• Ensure patient safety, proper positioning and clear procedure instructions.
• Utilize PACS to share images with radiologists with minimal exceptions.
• Assist in exam coding and timely completion of studies in the RIS.
• Instruct and supervise radiography students during clinical practicum.
