Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking an MRI Technologist to join Radiology in Patchogue on a per diem basis. The role involves operating MRI equipment, producing diagnostic images, and ensuring patient safety and proper positioning.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma graduate of an AMA approved Radiology program.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License or Temp Permit.
• ARRT certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to take diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
• Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and ensure timely completion of exams.
• Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies and report issues promptly.
• Instruct and supervise radiography students during clinical practicum.
• Position patients correctly and provide clear procedure instructions while ensuring image quality.
• Adhere to safety protocols for patient and staff around magnetic fields.
