Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an MRI technologist for a per diem position. The role involves operating the MRI scanner under supervision, performing venipuncture, and administering IV contrast while ensuring safety and protocol adherence.

The successful candidate will manage room workflow, verify orders, and ensure accurate billing and timely PACS availability, with daily scanner QA and strict access control in MRI zones.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an approved Magnetic Resonance Imaging program and possess an Associate's Degree.
• Must maintain a current ARRT registry in MRI; new grads must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Must maintain a current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage room workflow and facilitate patient care with the Magnetic Resonance Supervisor.
• Review MRI orders, confirm scan protocol, perform venipuncture and administer IV contrast.
• Screen patients for MRI safety and ensure proper positioning, coil placement and protocol selection.
• Control access to MRI zones and maintain scanner readiness.
• Prepare and clean equipment and scanner for each patient; perform daily QA on MRI scanner.
• Enter charges into EMAR accurately for all exams.
• Ensure all exams are available on PACS for timely interpretation.
