Job summary

Akumin is hiring a part-time MRI Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care across multiple MR systems. You will ensure patient safety through pre-screening and aseptic technique, and collaborate with radiologists and staff.

Requirements include ARRT MR or ARMRIT eligibility, CPR, state license if applicable, and the ability to travel to different sites. The role emphasizes strong customer service, organization, and communication skills in a fast-paced outpatient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety with pre-screening, aseptic technique and MR Technologist Assistant oversight.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images. Operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
• Communicates with customers and radiologists.
• Trains and orients new technologists, patient coordinators and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.
• Other duties as assigned.
