Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s MRI department in Boston is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for an overnight position with flexible start times (7p, 9p, or 11p). A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible candidates.

You will perform all MRI imaging exams, screen patients, insert IVs for contrast, and ensure images are complete and properly archived in PACS, while delivering clear explanations and maintaining patient comfort throughout the procedure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in radiologic technology or allied health required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT registration as MR Technologist required.
• 0-1 year related work experience preferred.
• New hires must have BLS certification within 60 days.
• Must be ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT registered by start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients for MRI imaging, including equipment setup and safety checks.
• Selects pulse sequences and documents procedures; may adjust protocols for diagnostic quality.
• Evaluates scan results and ensures images are complete and correctly displayed in PACS.
• Sends images to PACS, verifies exam, and maintains accurate records for billing and reporting.
• Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, and monitors comfort and safety.
• Starts IV lines for contrast-enhanced MRI and monitors for reactions; notifies radiologist if needed.
• Maintains records and participates in educational activities for staff and students.
• Learns and adheres to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
