Purpose of Your Job Description: The primary purpose of your job is to ensure the safety of MRI patients and others in the MRI environment. You will interview patients using the MRI screening form, follow up on potential contraindications, inform patients about the procedure, assist with patient positioning, and operate MRI equipment. You will also maintain patient confidentiality, perform clerical tasks, and communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
You will perform MRI examinations following protocols, make technical and medical decisions, and adjust imaging parameters for optimal results. You will observe safety guidelines and assist in patient comfort, especially for claustrophobic patients. Additionally, you will promote the MRI program through quality care and patient relationships.
As an MRI Technologist, you have the authority to obtain medical histories, access and release relevant medical information, assess patients, and make decisions regarding contrast reactions and emergencies. You can discontinue exams if patient safety or cooperation is compromised.
Education: ARRT MRI certification with MA License, BLS certification, IV competence.
Experience: 2 years as an MRI Technologist, knowledge of GE 1.5 Tesla scanner, MRI safety protocols.
