Qualifications

Job Description

This posting serves as a general site for all MRI applications within the Jefferson Health East region. The locations include:

• Jefferson Cherry Hill
• Jefferson Stratford
• Jefferson Washington Township

Position: MRI Technologist

Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs various magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce detailed tissue images for diagnosis. Responsible for preparing information for physicians and care teams, and providing patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.

Essential Functions

• Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
• Process and evaluate image quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Maintain patient and equipment positioning during contrast media flow to ensure safety and exam success.
• Instruct patients on body positioning and communicate effectively about MRI procedures, addressing questions.
• Determine equipment needs based on physician’s tentative diagnoses and scout films.
• Maintain MRI equipment through scheduled cleaning, testing, and reporting malfunctions.
• Implement and follow MRI safety guidelines during imaging procedures.
• Perform related duties as directed by supervisors, including quality assurance activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques, and applications for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
• Ability to prepare patients for imaging and monitor reactions, responding to emergencies appropriately.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduate of an approved ARRT program.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Active MRI Certification.
• State license as required.
