Job Description

The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans of patients' internal anatomy to assist physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. The role involves executing radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, providing consultation advice to patients and radiology professionals, and delivering patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  2. Properly position radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce detailed images for diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Explain radiographic procedures to patients and obtain relevant medical history.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients.
  5. Ensure staff and patient safety by following radiation safety standards, including the use of shields and aprons.
  6. Implement and monitor compliance with local, state, and national regulations, standards, and clinical protocols.
  7. Maintain x-ray equipment through scheduled cleaning and testing, documenting results.
  8. Update and maintain patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy, while maintaining confidentiality.
  9. Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors, including quality assurance and control tasks.
  10. Maintain continuing education to meet licensing and job requirements.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved ARRT program or hold a current validated ARRT Registry in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R) and (CT) are preferred.
  • CPR Certification is required.

  • Knowledge of RIS systems.
  • Knowledge of PACS systems.
