Job summary

Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center MRI department is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI procedures and related tasks. You will operate scanners, manage patient care, and coordinate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, obtaining consent, documenting procedures, and supporting safety protocols in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic/Nuclear Medicine program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment with high proficiency.
• Verify orders with radiologists and address discrepancies.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and explain procedures.
• Perform IV contrast administration per protocol and document usage.
• Ensure image quality and consult radiologist for abnormal findings.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to radiation protection policies.
• Document procedures and medications in the MAR.
• Assist in invasive procedures and support ancillary staff as needed.
