Job summary

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI scans, manage patient care, and ensure safety throughout procedures. The role includes preparing patients, obtaining histories, and coordinating with Radiology and Nursing teams to deliver accurate results.

Responsibilities include image evaluation, contrast administration, and adherence to radiation safety. Requires ARRT-approved education and MRI registry eligibility with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from ARRT-recognized program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire and BLS required.
• Active enrollment in MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program is required.

Responsibilities

• Examinations: verify orders, refer to Radiologist for discrepancies.
• Identify patient using two identifiers and explain procedures.
• Review patient history and EMR to obtain pertinent clinical data.
• Perform MRI scans from start to finish and document results.
• Prepare IV contrast per protocol and record type/amount as needed.
• Maintain infection control, sterile technique, and safety standards.
• Operate radiology computer systems and document contrast administration.
• Assist anesthesia during procedures and coordinate with nursing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked work area and report equipment malfunctions.
