Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center’s Mercy MRI department is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI procedures per departmental protocols. Operates MRI scanners and related equipment with high proficiency, including contrast administration and post-processing.

The ideal candidate will be ARRT (Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine) accredited, with MRI registry eligibility and CPR certification. A sign-on bonus is offered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Active enrollment in an MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program required.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Assists in MRI scanning and invasive procedures with physicians/PA.
• Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets.
• Maintains knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and patients in magnetic fields.
