Job summary

Atrium Health in Monroe, NC is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams and assist radiologists. You will prepare patients, verify orders, administer IV contrast, and ensure safety protocols are followed throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities include examining requests, reviewing medical history, operating radiology equipment, and maintaining quality images. ARRT MRI registry eligibility and BLS are required, with upcoming certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Active enrollment in an MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program is required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers to Radiologist for discrepancies.
• Identifies patients (two identifiers) and explains procedures; prepares patients with full explanations.
• Interviews patients for medical history; reviews EMRs for pertinent history and documents on requisitions.
• Assumes exam responsibility from start to completion of dictated results.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast per protocols; records type and amount when requested.
• Evaluates image quality and consults Radiologist; processes additional images as instructed.
• Performs basic patient care and initiates life support when necessary; assists in code blue emergencies.
• Performs MRI scanning and assists during invasive procedures; maintains sterile technique.
