Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Technologist Assistant to support the MRI department and contribute to patient care across the center. You will assist with pre-procedure forms, prepare rooms, and help maintain safety and equipment standards.

Responsibilities include patient education using AIDET and HEAL principles, assisting with IV starts under supervision, and ensuring accurate documentation in RIS/PACS. This role emphasizes teamwork and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Medical program or courses completed in Medical Technology.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• 1–2 years of healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients and assists with pre-procedure forms and room preparation.
• Starts IV access under Radiologist direction and disposes of waste per policy.
• Verifies clinical history with orders and documents information for practitioners.
• Explains procedures to patients, monitors safety, and assists during procedures.
• Maintains RIS/PACS documentation and safe departmental practices.
• Supports inventory, cleans rooms, and readies equipment for next patient.
• Participates in service excellence and process improvement efforts.
