Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MR procedures, ensure high-quality imaging, and support patient care in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT-MRI or ARMRIT certification (or ARRT registration) with BLS. Prior MRI experience is preferred; responsibilities include safety checks, order review, patient education, and collaboration with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program or MRI Program.
• Previous MRI experience preferred.
• ARRT-MRI or ARMRIT certification or ARRT registration.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine to complex magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
• Level 2 MR personnel trained in MR safety issues and related risks.
• Reviews diagnostic imaging orders and follows protocols; questionable orders reviewed by Radiologist.
• Educates patients and families regarding the exam and answers questions as appropriate.
• Maintains safety and quality assurance; conducts safety inspections and reports hazardous conditions.
