Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Technologist Assistant to support the MRI department and ensure high-quality patient care across the organization. Responsibilities include room setup, supplies, patient identification, and collaboration with radiology staff.

The role involves assisting with IV starts under Radiologist direction, maintaining safety standards, documenting in RIS/PACS, and participating in service and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Medical program or courses in Medical Technology.
• Minimum of one to two years' experience in a healthcare setting or Medical Assistant preferred.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and assist with pre-procedure forms and room preparation.
• Starts IV access under Radiologist direction and disposes of regulated waste.
• Corroborate patient history with orders and ensure documentation availability.
• Explain procedures to patients, monitor comfort and safety, and address concerns.

Education

BLS certification within 60 days of hire
