Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Imaging Technologist to operate imaging equipment under Radiologist direction. Responsibilities include patient preparation, positioning, contrast administration, and adherence to safety protocols.

The role requires ARRT certification with Montana licensure, strong patient communication, and ability to work across departments. Location is St James Hospital, Montana; full-time 36-hour weeks with rotating on-call expectations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma from a two-year college or technical school; 6 months to 1 year related experience acceptable.
• ARRT (R) certification and BLS; licensure in Montana or eligibility.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific journals.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Access and update patient medical records in EMR systems.
• Input physician orders to patient records accurately.
• Explain imaging procedures and safety to patients before procedures.
• Position patients on imaging tables and use immobilization devices as needed.
• Administer contrast media per Radiologist/Pharmacy guidelines.
• Monitor patients during imaging procedures.
• Follow radiation protection and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and reviews; assist with data collection.
• May float to other departments as needed based on competency.
• May be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Education
