Job summary

South Shore Health System in Weymouth, MA is seeking a part-time MRI technologist to perform routine and advanced scans under supervision of the MRI Manager and Team Leader.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, setting imaging parameters, IV insertions, MR contrast injections, and strict adherence to MRI safety protocols. Requires ARRT MRI certification or ARMRIT; BLS/ACLS may be required. Flexible with shifts and cross-site coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of Medical Imaging.
  • ARRT MRI certification or ARMRIT equivalent preferred.
  • Must be registered or eligible for ARRT (MRI) or ARMRIT and complete within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients, position, set imaging parameters, perform processing and display images.
  • Perform QA on MRI scanners and related equipment; document results.
  • Insert IV catheters and administer MR contrast agents with monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Instruct patients on MR safety procedures and ensure tool/area safety.
  • Communicate with radiologists for protocol clarification and follow designated protocols.
  • Document patient information and contrast details in Epic; utilize PACS and RIS for tracking.
