Job summary

Atrium Health University City is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI procedures and support imaging quality. You will operate MRI scanners, prepare patients, and assist Radiologists while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

The role requires ARRT radiologic or nuclear medicine training, MRI registry timing within one year of hire, and BLS certification, with a strong focus on patient care and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized radiologic or nuclear medicine program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles.

Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders; refer questions to Radiologist.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and explain procedures.
• Prepare patients and obtain medical history; document appropriately.
• Review EMRs for pertinent history and correlate results with exams.
• Administer IV contrast per protocol and document type/amount.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Perform MRI scanning and assist during procedures; follow safety policies.
• Maintain sterile technique and report equipment malfunctions.
• Document contrast administration in the MAR and keep area organized.

Education
