Job summary

Atrium Health University City is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI procedures and support radiology services with a focus on safety and patient care. You will operate MRI scanners, monitor patients, and coordinate with radiologists to ensure accurate exam results.

The role involves preparing patients, administering IV contrast per protocol, documenting procedures, and maintaining equipment and safety standards in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers to Radiologist and contacts provider if discrepancies.
• Identifies patients with two identifiers and prepares them for the procedure with explanation.
• Interviews patients for medical history and reviews EMRs for pertinent history.
• Performs MRI scanning and assists during invasive procedures with proper sterile technique.
• Operates radiology computer systems and documents contrast administration in the MAR.
• Maintains safety with MRI and radiology equipment and adheres to radiation safety standards.
