Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Radiology--MRI
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm
  • Hospital: Ascension Via Christi, St. Joseph
  • Location: Wichita, Kansas
What You Will Do

Operate a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat pathologies.

  1. Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
  2. Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  3. Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.
  4. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  5. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
  6. Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  7. Report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  8. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure room, storage area, dressing room, film storage area, and other department areas.
What You Will Need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  1. BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  2. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  3. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  1. High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

REGISTERED MRI TECHNOLOGIST WITH 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE. MUST BE ABLE TO PROBLEM SOLVE AND BE A MOTIVATED SELF-STARTER.
