MRI Technologist - Full-Time - Travel

Position Overview: The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is responsible for coordinating and completing daily MRI procedures, including prioritizing operations, executing exams, and managing paperwork. Responsibilities also include following physician orders, ensuring quality imaging, patient care, safety protocols, equipment maintenance, documentation, and leading tech duties if applicable.

Experience: Minimum of one year performing diagnostic procedures in a hospital or outpatient setting, demonstrating proven scanning skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient use and maintenance of MRI equipment.
  • Conduct MRI examinations, including contrast agent procedures.
  • Manage patient care during complex MRI procedures with competence and empathy.
  • Follow instructions effectively and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
  • Perform scanning, labeling, and address quality assurance issues promptly.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and dose reporting policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain departmental productivity.
  • Assist radiologists with procedures, including IV placements and contrast administration.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform MRI examinations on patients of all ages.
  • Competency in PACS processes and daily QA procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and dedication to patient care.
  • Proficiency with MRI technical equipment.
  • Knowledge of radiation protection and shielding guidelines per regulations.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations, health screenings, drug tests, and background checks.
  • ARRT(MR), MRT state licensure, and BLS certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability in the state of employment.

  • Maintain high-quality MRI procedures and standards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including managing stressful situations.

Supervision: Reports to Regional Manager.

Work Environment:

  • Requires travel to client locations for MRI duties.
  • Performing MRI procedures at various client sites.

Physical Effort:

  • Must lift 50-100 lbs, including patients and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and physical flexibility required.

Public Contact: Interaction with patients, staff, and physicians, requiring professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
