  • A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.

  • NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment.
  • BLS Certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI equipment to perform routine and advanced imaging procedures while maintaining patient safety under supervision.
  • Provide patient care, education, and comfort throughout the examination; ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Document and transfer imaging data for archiving and post-processing; maintain accurate exam records.

Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES:Equipment Operation. Perform a variety of routine and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient safety under general supervisionPatient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the MRI area; educate patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the examDocumentation. Transfer imaging data for archiving and post-data processing; maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and related proceduresREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) is required within 6 months of employment.NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
