Job summary

• A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.

• NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES:Equipment Operation. Perform a variety of routine and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient safety under general supervisionPatient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the MRI area; educate patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the examDocumentation. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
