Job summary

Ascension’s Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, WI, seeks an MRI Technologist to join the Magnetic Resonance Imaging department on a day shift, full-time. You will prepare patients, position for imaging, and acquire high-quality cross-sectional images.

Responsibilities include pre-screening, scheduling, data entry, PACS transfers, and maintaining image quality. Requires MR credentials or eligibility and BLS within 1 month; on-site role with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following MR credentials required or must be obtained within specified timelines: NMTCB MRI credential; ARRT MR credential within 12 months; ARDMS MR credential within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images to PACS and develop film in an automatic processor.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct markers and patient data/history.
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report problems or malfunctions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.


• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.


• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor.


• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).


• Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• One or more of the following required:




• Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must pass the Magnetic Resonance (MR) boards through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 month of hire/transfer date.


• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.


• Medical Sonographer specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must pass the Magnetic Resonance (MR) boards through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 month of hire/transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
