Job summary

Ascension Providence in Waco, TX, is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality cross-sectional imaging and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will screen for metal safety, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and manage imaging data in the EHR and PACS while upholding strict safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes image accuracy, patient history review, and supportive care across all pathologies in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• MRI credentials or eligibility required by hire date (NMTCB/ARRT/ARDMS/ARMRIT).
• Texas Radiologic Technologist certification preferred.
• Experience with MRI safety and patient screening is expected.

• Manage clinical documentation and image transfers within the EHR and PACS to ensure data integrity and prompt diagnostic reporting.
• Lead quality improvement efforts by verifying image accuracy and patient history to support effective diagnosis and treatment for all pathologies.

Licenses/Certifications/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• One or more of the following required:
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S) or Vascular Sonography (VS) also accepted.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted.
  • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
