Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking an MRI technologist to perform diagnostic MRI procedures, ensure image quality and quality control in the MRI area. You will operate the RIS system for scheduling, tracking and exam completion while maintaining patient comfort and safety across all ages.

The role requires ARRT MR and R credentials, completion of a radiology program, and BLS within 30 days of employment. Join a comprehensive hospital system in the heart of Houston.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Radiology School.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Licensed RT/Radiologic Technologist with ARRT-MR and ARRT-R credentials.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in MRI.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic MRI procedures with attention to quality control.
  • Operate RIS for scheduling, tracking, and exam completion.
  • Maintain MRI equipment and related devices.
  • Provide care across pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess situations and choose appropriate actions.

General Statement of Duties

Responsible to perform diagnostic procedures utilizing MRI and imaging equipment. Will perform all MRI procedures and is responsible for the quality control in the MRI area.

Essential Job Functions
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in all areas of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, positioning, procedure preparation and technical factors associated with the MRI systems.
  • Responsible for the proper use of the RIS (scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, proper completion of exams).
  • Responsible for all other equipment used in MR (e.g. monitoring equipment, stereotactic biopsy equipment (where applicable) and any other devices/equipment used in MRI.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm in performing and accepting work assignments.
  • Must demonstrates the ability to assess a situation consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of action.
  • Will demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Radiology School.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
  • (ARRT-MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
