Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive architecture, integration, and performance optimization of MRI systems in Wisconsin. You will lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, RF, gradient, and magnet subsystems to deliver robust imaging solutions while meeting clinical and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include system design, verification and validation planning, risk assessments, and lifecycle management from concept to sustaining engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in systems engineering, preferably in medical imaging or MRI.
• Strong MRI physics knowledge and clinical workflow understanding.
• Proficient with analysis and simulation software.
• Experience with medical device regulatory standards and design controls.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Design: lead MR system architecture and requirements.
• Integration & Performance: oversee subsystems (SW, Magnet, RF, Gradient, Receive Chain).
• Drive system-level performance analyses and trade-off studies.
• Technical Leadership: act as POC for cross-functional teams (hardware, software, regulatory).
• Contribute to technical reviews and design decisions.
• Lead risk assessments and FMEA for system-level concerns.
• Lifecycle Management: support concept-to-sustaining engineering.
• Lead system verification and validation planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, IEC 60601).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: translate needs into system requirements and design inputs.
• Work with product management, marketing, and service teams for product success.
• Interface with external partners and suppliers as needed.
