Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Waukesha, WI to shape the next generation of MRI software. You will design, develop, test, and support software components for MR scanners in a highly regulated environment, working with cross-functional teams on device-integrated solutions.

You will contribute to architecture, CI/CD, testing, and maintainable code, mentoring peers and upholding quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features for GE HealthCare MR scanners.
• Collaborate with users, feature leads, systems engineers, and subject matter experts to define innovative solutions.
• Develop software within Agile practices and a CI environment.
• Apply modern software engineering principles including architecture, design, testing, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to distributed and microservices-based applications.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across software and system environments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across development, sustaining, and support organizations.
• Partner with domain experts to learn healthcare and imaging system knowledge.
• Write clear, maintainable, well-tested code meeting quality and performance standards.
• Share knowledge, mentor team members, and foster collaborative culture.
