Job summary

GE HealthCare in Wisconsin seeks a Senior FPGA & Digital Hardware Engineer to design circuit boards and FPGA-based subsystems for MRI platforms. You will work across board-level digital hardware and programmable logic with opportunities to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and influence architecture within the Digital Controls & Mixed Signal Engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in digital hardware, FPGA designs, or both.
• Experience with VHDL/Verilog for FPGA design and debugging.
• Experience with board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of clocking, resets, metastability, and timing analysis.
• Experience integrating FPGAs with processors, memory, or data converters.
• Experience with interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, LVDS, SPI, I2C, UART.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify digital boards and FPGA-based subsystems for MRI platforms.
• Develop RTL using VHDL or Verilog and support through simulation and synthesis.
• Design boards with FPGAs, processors, memory, data converters, and interfaces.
• Lead debugging, lab testing, and system integration activities.
• Define interfaces among FPGA, hardware, firmware, software, ASIC, and system components.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge through reviews and documentation.
• Support signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability reviews.
