Job summary

Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented healthcare scheduling professional to coordinate complex MRI and procedural services in Sioux Falls, SD. You will manage MRI/OR scheduling, authorizations, and patient prep, collaborating with multiple clinical teams to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires knowledge of imaging scheduling, pre-operative coordination, insurance verification, and healthcare workflows, with CPR certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare scheduling or medical office experience preferred, especially in imaging/radiology, surgery/OR, procedural services, pre-operative coordination, or centralized scheduling.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and healthcare workflows highly preferred.
• AHA CPR certification required; may be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MRI and procedural schedules across MRI, OR, Pain Clinic, CT, and infusion services.
• Coordinate pre-procedure requirements: physician orders, authorizations, insurance, safety screening, demographics, and documentation.
• Select MRI resources based on patient needs, safety, and equipment availability (Open Upright, 3T).
• Collaborate with physicians, clinics, MRI technologists, Medical Records, Recovery Care, and other hospital teams to coordinate procedures.
• Manage competing priorities related to patients, providers, equipment, and scanner availability.
• Coordinate special patient needs, including MRI scheduling and transportation for Recovery Care patients.
• Communicate with patients and physician offices to schedule procedures and obtain needed information.
• Serve as central point of contact for MRI scheduling and communicate changes to team.
