Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with accredited radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registry in diagnostic radiology required; advanced registry preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology may substitute for up to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI-related imaging tasks and related duties as needed.
• Maintains competency with MRI equipment, contrast injectors, and post-processing software.
• Demonstrates proper patient positioning with markers for accurate imaging.
• Uses appropriate scanning factors and protocols for each exam.
• Provides radiation safety to patients, staff and self according to standards.
• Recognizes emergencies and initiates code procedures when necessary.
• Performs patient assessment and screening within scope of practice.
• Reviews prior imaging and history to ensure appropriate exam is ordered.
• Maintains sterile technique during invasive MRI procedures.
• Directly assists radiologists during MRI procedures.
• Prepares patient for IV injections and maintains IV access.
