Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology, and 5 years experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures, 3 of which were in advanced modality.
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for up to one year of experience in conducting routine diagnostic procedures.
• Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• Advanced registry for advanced modalities is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of related digital image management tasks as necessary i.e. exceptions, annotations.
• Maintains competency by demonstrating a complete working knowledge of all imaging equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrates proper positioning for all MRI and certain Radiology exams, including invasive procedures.
• Labels patient position to reflect correct orientation of images.
• Uses appropriate scanning factors and protocols according to patient and body part.
• Provides radiation protection to patient, family, staff and self.
• Recognizes emergency situations and initiates code procedures as needed.
• Reviews patient's prior imaging and history to ensure appropriate exam is ordered.
