Ascension Wisconsin’s MRI Apprenticeship Program at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, WI invites motivated individuals to launch a career as an MRI Technologist. The 12-18 month, full-time program provides hands-on clinical rotations, didactics, mentorship, and clear employment pathways upon graduation.

You’ll gain exposure to patient care, imaging protocols, safety practices, and board exam preparation while enrolling in a structured curriculum and receiving comprehensive educational

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire date.
• Enrolled in an accredited MRI program or related field advantageous.
• Prior patient care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Apply theoretical knowledge to patient care during online MRI didactics and hands-on clinical rotations.
• Position patients and select parameters to capture diagnostic images under supervision.
• Uphold magnetic field safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
• Prepare equipment, manage supplies and support technologists during procedures.
• Progress toward ARMRIT exam and board certification through clinical requirements.

You'll acquire your clinical skills and build confidence in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with hands-on learning experience and dedicated mentorship.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Apply theoretical knowledge to patient care by actively completing online MRI didactics while assisting radiologist-led teams during hands-on clinical rotations.
• Capture diagnostic-grade images by positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters under the direct supervision of certified technologists.
• Safeguard patient and team safety by upholding strict magnetic field safety protocols, screening procedures and radiation protection standards.
• Drive operational efficiency by preparing equipment, managing supplies and supporting supervising technologists during complex diagnostic imaging cases.
• Progress toward board certification by mastering magnetic resonance data acquisition, completing all clinical requirements and preparing for the ARMRIT exam.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
• Prior general patient care experience.
• Willingness to travel between multiple Ascension Wisconsin sites of care.
