Job summary

Carleton Living is seeking a Make Ready Technician to prepare apartments for move-in following turnover and to maintain the exterior property. The role involves cleaning, basic repairs, and ensuring all systems and appliances function correctly.

You will perform demolitions, repairs, and touch-ups, coordinate with property staff, and ensure customer service standards. This hands-on position requires teamwork and independent initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Basic writing and reading skills required.
• A commitment to exceptional customer service is critical.
• Some plumbing, electrical, general maintenance and appliance repair knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Removal of trash and all items left by the previous resident.
• Repair and prepare walls, doors, wood trim, closets, and cabinets for painting.
• Repair any glass items such as windows, medicine cabinets, light globes, mirrors, etc.
• Ensure proper operation of major appliances listed (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, HVAC, water heater).
• Repair minor problems and report major issues to management before move-in.
• Ensure proper operation of window blinds and/or curtains.
• Ensure door latches operate properly and have proper carpet clearance.
• Install weather stripping around doors and windows where required.
• Repair bathroom floor and wall tile when required.
• Re-key master locks and make keys available for leasing prior to move-in.
• Repair all leaking faucets, water pressure lines, and drain line leaks.
