Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, seeks a Mountain Sports School Manager to lead our seasonal Mountain Sports School operations. You will oversee instructors, guides, administrative staff, and support teams, ensuring exceptional instruction, guest service, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities include recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating team members; developing group lessons, private instruction, and clinics; managing registrations through Flaik, RTP, and Aspenware; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sports Management, Recreation, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Previous management experience within a Mountain Sports School or similar instructional environment.
• Strong understanding of skiing and snowboarding techniques and instruction.
• Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent guest service and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Ability to analyze operational data and performance reports.
• PSIA-AASI Level 3 preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee people, programs, and daily Mountain Sports School operations.
• Lead instructors, guides, administrative staff, and support teams while ensuring instruction, guest service, safety and performance.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate team members to maintain instructional and performance standards.
• Develop and manage group lessons, private instruction, specialty clinics, and other mountain sports programs.
• Oversee lesson registration and booking processes through Flaik, RTP, and Aspenware.
• Manage daily operations including budgeting, staffing, scheduling, expenses, and resource allocation.
• Build relationships with local schools, organizations, and community groups to generate new business.
• Represent Alyeska Mountain Sports School within the community and industry.
