Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Mountain Operations Dispatcher at Solitude Mountain Resort. This entry-level dispatcher coordinates on- and off-mountain activities, serving as the central communication hub for mountain operations, guests, and emergency teams. Requires strong communication, attention to detail, and calmness under pressure.

Base hourly pay ranges from $18.65 to $21.00. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with opportunities for seasonal or full-time hours and extensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 months related experience in a high-intensity job or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: previous radio communications and/or mountain operations experience

Responsibilities

• Monitor all communication avenues: radio channels, phone lines, emails, and Teams; handle issues as they arise (injuries, lift issues, missing persons, power issues, avalanches).
• Excellent verbal and written communication with guests and staff; manage dispatch communications effectively.
• Maintain accurate records: logs, radio transmissions, phone calls, lift downtime, and other information.
• Assist with data tracking and reporting for lift information.
• Update and publish lift schedules to the Solitude Mountain Resort website and app.
• Attend Ski Patrol and Mountains Operations meetings and participate in debriefs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety policies; respond calmly in emergencies.
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
