Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks an entry-level Level 1 Dispatcher to act as the central communications hub for mountain operations, guests, and emergency teams. The role requires calm, clear communication and meticulous documentation across radio, phone, email, and Teams channels.

Applicants must be 18+ and prepared for early morning shifts. The position includes benefits, lift access, and discounts as part of Palisades Tahoe and Alterra benefits package.

Qualifications

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in high‑pressure situations.
• Strong customer service orientation with guest safety in mind.
• Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
• Reliable and punctual; able to start shifts early (5:30–7:00 am) regardless of conditions.
• Proficient with standard office software and communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process a wide range of communications, including emergencies and routine inquiries.
• Document all pertinent details and relay information to relevant personnel or agencies.
• Monitor mountain radio and phone traffic for guest injuries, lift issues, and emergencies.
• Assess incidents, determine priorities, and dispatch appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate responses with Mountain Manager, departments, and external agencies as needed.
• Maintain operational logs, reports, lift status, and other records.
