Job summary

Ski Utah is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor to lead mountain operations on-site, supervising lift operators, ticket checkers, and fellow supervisors to ensure safe, efficient daily operations and exceptional guest service.

The role requires hands-on leadership, scheduling, incident investigations, and regular feedback. Weekend, holiday, and night shifts may be required; strong stamina and guest-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Handyperson skills in carpentry, painting and general maintenance.
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Advanced ski/snowboard skills.
• Weekend, holiday and night availability.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand long periods.

Responsibilities

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Snowbasin’s policies and laws.
• Supervise and guide fellow supervisors, lift operators and ticket checkers with daily duties.
• Verify and inspect daily procedural standards.
• Train and orient staff to their positions and department.
• Appraise and discipline operators and ticket checkers on performance.
• Build daily schedule.
• Attend daily meetings and end-of-day reports.
• Provide regular performance feedback and mid-season reviews.
• Prepare lifts for opening/closing seasons.
• Investigate lift-related accidents and incidents and address guest concerns.
• Promote team and guest safety; provide exemplary teamwork and guest service.
