Job summary

Snowbasin Resort is seeking a Lift Operator to load and unload guests on chairlifts and mountain transportation systems. The role emphasizes guest service, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic winter environment.

Responsibilities include operating lifts, performing pre-operational checks, assisting guests, and maintaining work areas. AHS+, strong English, and training completion are required; skiing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to apply and able to read and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to stand for extended periods in outdoor winter conditions.
• Skiing or snowboarding experience is a plus but not required.
• Completion of Snowbasin Lift Operations Department training is required before operating independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate chairlifts, gondolas, tows, and carpets for load/unload.
• Follow all company and department policies and procedures.
• Complete required pre-operational procedures daily.
• Monitor guest loading and unloading; assist guests as needed.
• Provide courteous, professional guest service and anticipate needs.
• Work independently and as part of the Lift Operations team.
• Assist with lift setup, snow removal, and keeping work areas clean.
• Perform routine tasks and assist with basic maintenance as directed.
• Support opening/closing procedures and end-of-day checks.
• Communicate with supervisors, Lift Operators, Ski Patrol, and departments.
• Identify and report operational or guest-related issues promptly.
• Attend required training and department meetings.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by Lift Operations leadership.
